Transportation to Lahore City Center from Airport

Allama Iqbal Intl Airport

The most practical way of travelling to Lahore city center from Allama Iqbal International Airport is getting on a taxi. Renting a car is also among the options but you should keep in mind that traffic can be very heavy in the city. If you prefer a more budget-friendly means of transportation, you can get on one of the buses going to the city center. You shouldn’t forget that there are separate seats for women in the buses.

Car Rental

It is possible to rent a car at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Keep in mind that the traffic in Lahore can be very heavy, and most of the drivers don’t obey traffic rules. For this reason, foreigners aren’t generally advised to rent a car. If you have enough budget, rent a car with a driver. You can reach the city center from Allama Iqbal International Airport by driving westward on Aziz Bhatti, Canal Bank or Zarrar Shaheed Road.

Taxi

At the airport, two different taxi companies offer service for 24 hours. It is possible to reach Lahore city center by taxi in about 20 minutes. However, keep in mind that the traffic can be very intense in Lahore. Before getting on the taxi, make sure to agree on the fare by specifying your destination. Travelling to the city center from the airport generally costs about 600-700 Pakistani Rupee. For this reason, if the driver demands more amount, find another taxi.

Bus

You can reach the city center in an affordable way by using the bus routes B-08 and B-28 departing from the airport. The bus route B-08 goes to the main train station and main bus station. You can get information about the bus route that is the most suitable for you by visiting the information desk located at the arriving passenger terminal.
