Getting to the airport by taxi from the city center is one of the fastest and most affordable ways. If you want, by renting a car you can have a much more comfortable means of transportation. It is very likely that your hotel has airport shuttle service and you can benefit from this service by making a reservation in advance. Chiang Mai International Airport doesn’t accept buses and tuk-tuks. For this reason, the airport cannot be reached by public transportation.

Taxi

It takes about 20 minutes to get to the airport from the city center by taxi. The average amount you need to pay is 120 baht. It will be better if you talk to the driver in advance and agree on the amount. You can try to bargain.

Hotel Service

Almost all hotels in the city have airport shuttle services or limousines for their guests. You can get in contact with your hotel in advance in order to benefit from this service. Don’t forget to talk about the price.

Limousine / Car Rental

If you have rented a car for your travel or a transfer vehicle with a driver for getting to the airport from the city center, you can arrive there in about half an hour under normal traffic conditions. If you will drive, you must follow the road 4032. Another alternative is to go straight on the road 108 and connect to the road 121.

Chiang Mai International Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Thailand, with about 6 million passengers each year. You can use the free Wi-Fi network throughout the entire airport. There are more than ten hotels located just 2 km of the airport.
