Transportation to Airport from Graz City Center

Graz Airport

About 10 km from the city center, Graz International Airport is connected to the city by the A9 and A2 motorways. You can reach the airport from different points of the city center.

If you are going to use public transport, you can take the bus or train. Both means of transportation are very affordable and allow you to reach the airport in a short time.

With airport shuttle services, hotel shuttle provided by your hotel, renting a car or taking a taxi you can reach the airport comfortably and quickly.

Bus

Buses to the airport depart from the main bus terminal in the city center. The ticket price is 2.20 euro for one-way boarding.

Train

You can reach the airport in 12 minutes by train from the main train station in the city center. You need to get off at the Flughafen Graz - Feldkirchen train station. This station is about 10 minutes’ walk from the airport’s departing passenger terminal.

Hotel Shuttle

The airport service provided by your hotel is a very convenient means of transportation, since it will take you from the door of your hotel to the door of the departing passenger terminal just in time and without any problems. You can get information about and book this service in advance. If your hotel does not offer this service, it can help you with alternatives.

Taxi

It is easy to find a taxi in Graz city center. If you wish your hotel can also arrange a taxi for you. It costs 20 Euro between the city center and the airport.

Car Rental

You can easily rent a vehicle for your budget from the car rental offices in the city center. You need to have international drivers’ license for this. If your driving license is not suitable for driving in Austria, you can rent a car with a driver. If you drive the car by yourself, you can reach the airport via A9 or A2.

The airport shuttle services of 2 different private companies offer transportation services for an average of 38 Euro per person. You can make a reservation for return from the office at airport or you can make ask for it from your hotel to make a booking for you. Graz International Airport has all kinds of facilities you can expect from an airport, including numerous eating and drinking areas, stores and duty-free shops. It offers a very comfortable environment to relax, to have a snack, to browse the newspapers and magazines on the reading corner, or to concentrate on your work.

You can take advantage of the lounge service free of charge with a private card or pay 17 Euros. Graz International Airport offers an alternative event for those who are really interested in aviation and those who are curious about what is happening at the airport.

With the guided airport tour, you can browse both the known areas of the airport as well as the departments that are not open to the passengers, and you can get detailed information about how the airport works. A tour of up to 25 people takes 1.5 hours and costs 75 Euros per person. In order to participate in the tours between 7 am and 5 pm, seven days of the week, you need to book an average of 14 days in advance.

Trains are another affordable and convenient method of transportation to get to the city from the airport. Trains depart from the Manchester Airport railway station, which is located at The Station. Trains operate every day of the week and run every 10 minutes. A train from the airport to the city center takes about 20 minutes.
